Sheffield Collection
On 4th November 1907, the Library purchased from Sotheby's part of the collection of John Baker Holroyd, 1st Earl of sheffield (1735-1821). Sheffield was a leading economic authority of his time, and his collection includes 54 Acts and Proclamations of 1650-1, and six volumes of his scrapbooks. The collection is now part of the Goldsmiths’ Library of Economic Literature.
The Sheffield Collection contains 260 items: books, pamphlets, broadsides, proclamations, Acts of Parliament, scrapbooks.
