Littleton Collection

A small (20 volumes) but highly significant collection of early printed music (including works by Tallis and Byrd), and early printed treatises on music (including Theoricum opus musice by Franchinus Gaffurius, 1480), formerly part of the library of Alfred Henry Littleton (1845-1914), given to the Library by the Carnegie United Kingdom Trust in 1932. It consists of printed books, scores and part-books published between 1480 and 1676. To gain an overview of the collection, do a mixed classmark search on [Littleton].
