  • Academic Search Complete
    Academic Search Complete contains indexing and abstracts for more than 6,100 full-text periodicals, including more than 5,100 peer-reviewed journals. In addition to full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for more than 10,100 journals and a total of more than 10,600 publications including monographs, reports, conference proceedings, in biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, religion & theology, etc. The database features PDF content going back as far as 1887, with the majority of full text titles in native (searchable) PDF format. Searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 journals. Academic Search Complete is updated daily and available via EBSCOhost
  • Citation Indexes on Web of Knowledge
    Supplied by the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI), citation data are taken from about 8400 selected international journals from 1981 onwards, and organised into three separate indexes  
  • IngentaConnect
    IngentaConnect is a database containing over 17 million recent articles from 28,000 publications available for online, fax or Ariel delivery. Some of the journals are available on the library's subscriptions.
  • JSTOR
    JSTOR includes archives of over one thousand leading academic journals across the humanities, social sciences, and sciences, as well as select monographs and other materials valuable for academic work. The entire corpus is full-text searchable, offers search term highlighting, includes high-quality images, and is interlinked by millions of citations and references.  
  • Periodicals Archive Online (SHL only) 
    Periodicals Archive Online is an archive of hundreds of digitised journals published in the arts, humanities and social sciences, a database of articles, searchable across full text.

    Periodicals Index Online a database of millions of article citations published in the arts, humanities and social sciences, across more than 300 years, with links to some full text where available.
  • ZETOC: British Library Electronic Table of Contents
    ZETOC provides the contents of the most frequently requested journals (approximately 20,000 current titles) from the British Library Document Supply Centre (BLDSC)   Direct purchase possible for the last 5 years from The British Library Direct
  • FRANCIS
    Produced by the highly regarded Institut de l’Information Scientifique et Technique du Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, FRANCIS indexes multilingual information published in over 4,300 journals and provides abstracts for 80 percent of its 2 million records covering wideranging topics in the humanities and social sciences.
  • BASE
    BASE searches over 2.7 million documents from 189 sources. Among them are numerous academic full text archives that are accessible through the international protocol of the Open Archive Initiative (OAI). Most of the documents are freely accessible and can be searched on the basis of metadata or full text.
