Readers’ tickets, for which a passport photo and proof of identity are required, are available at Reception free of charge.

Unfortunately no special access for wheelchairs, but lift for basement and first floor.

Complete catalogue and list of all periodicals on web site.  On-line public access catalogues in Library give complete holdings.

CLASSIFICATION

Own.  21 major categories, each category is given a capital letter which indicates the classification by subject matter or by geographical location.  Within the categories are sub-divisions, which are by chronology and then by subject.

STOCK

Volumes 70,000.  Current periodicals 218.  All books on open shelves, arranged according to classification.

SPECIAL COLLECTION OR STRENGTHS

Third Reich; Present Germany; GDR; Anglo-German relations; historiography; comprehensive collections of guides to archives in Germany.
