A selection of photographs from the Harry Price Library of Magical Literature, one of the Special Collections in Senate House Library, is on display from 23 November 2007 until 27 January 2008 at The Photographers' Gallery, 5 & 8 Great Newport Street, London WC2H 7HY.
Ninety photographs from the 1920s and 1930s are in the exhibition "Seeing is believing", which displays them alongside the work of seven international artists who share a fascination for the unexplained. The photographs from the Harry Price Library show a range of objects, contraptions, portraits and scenarios which formed part of the activities of the National Laboratory of Psychical Research, founded by Harry Price in 1925, and include Helen Duncan, the haunting of Borley Rectory and the Crawley poltergeist.
