Victorian Encounters

Senate House Library will be exhibiting items from its extensive holdings of Victorian periodicals, which range from general titles such as Illustrated London News, Idler and Household Words to more specialist titles such as The Studio and The Lancet.

The Library has mounted this exhibition to coincide with the 'Victorian Encounters' conference being held at Birkbeck College on 20-22 July. The exhibition aims to reflect the themes of the conference which will address the relationship between publishers, editors and readers, whilst providing an insight to the rich diversity of Special Collections periodicals held by the Library.
