Accessibility
These pages have been designed with accessibility in mind. Most areas of this site conform to the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (Priority 1). Where this isn't the case all basic accessibility features have been employed and we are continually adjusting our older pages to meet these standards.
Key accessibility features include:
- CSS and XHTML standards compliance (please note, some link URLs cause page validation to fail. We are working on this issue).
- Style Sheets for layout and formatting.
- Print-friendly pages.
- We have tested a number of pages using basic screen reader software and we are keen to make Library resources as accessible as we can (see our policy document). If you are experiencing any difficulties using this site please email . If you have any comments or suggestions please use our feedback form.
Software
In common with many modern Web sites, these pages make extensive use of Cascading Style Sheets to efficiently format content. This means that old browsers such as Netscape 4 will display pages without the intended formatting. The content, however, should remain accessible. These pages also include small amounts of Javascript and some documents also require Adobe Acrobat Reader.
This site has been tested in:
Windows (XP): Internet Explorer 5, 6 and 7; Firefox 2; Opera 9
Mac (Tiger): Safari 2, 3; Firefox 2, 3; Opera 9
If you experience any difficulties at all please let us know and we will endeavor to support your requirements.
